LIFE-PATH
The Life-Path™ project is a training course for youth workers from NGOs active in youth projects. The target group is formed of 15 youth workers from 5 NGOs from 5 countries. The course duration is 9 days excluding travel days. The project aims to improve the capacity of the partner organizations to motivate and better their volunteers through Personal and Professional Development. The Life Path training course is based on a new innovative non-formal education methodology for personal and professional development called The Equilitri Method™. The method has been developed in over 10 years of work, tested and piloted in Asia in 2010-2011 and it is now introduced in Europe. Equilitri™ is a Personal development method meant to help people organize their life, achieve balance, success and happiness, cross over difficulties and challenges.
The projects will help the partner organizations by providing their youth workers with advanced human resources tools for personal development and key competencies in these four areas:
- improving the volunteers time management skills,
- developing leadership and followship skills,
- becoming aware of the importance of life mapping, deveoping the ability to set up goals, plan and implement
- improving communication skills in an organisational environment.
This is a multiphase project. The preliminary phase was a Partnership Building Activity financed through Youth in Action in 2009. The first phase has already successfully concluded with a pilot course in Viet-Nam and several component courses in India. There will be 5 training courses in the second phase, followed by a Training of Trainers (third phase) on the Equilitri method and a fourth wave of courses in Europe. The fifth phase would be to create an European Network to provide support and tools for further steps. The Network would be named Alter-Edu, and two projects have already been completed towards this end (the Partnership Building Activity EuroPartners, in 2009, finalized successfully, and the Alter-Edu Project, in 2010-2011, in progress as we speak). Now we are focusing on the second phase.
